Text: Hebrews 9. Hymn: 819, Sing Praise to God, the Highest Good.
Sound bite: Atlantic Yards “Time Out” Protest.
Organist: Kantor Nathan Beethe, Director of Parish Music, Grace Lutheran Church, Little Rock, AR.
Good themes of inheritance and redemption in Hebrews 9.

Still having sound issues on my computer. I replaced the speakers, so that is not the issue! I am now two webisodes behind on “Time Out.” I am really looking forward to both of them!

SOUND IS BACK!!!
Kantor Beethe is using more resources than just the LSB arrangements. Perhaps each Time Out can provide us with the names of the composers and perhaps the volume that features the work. I would guess that he is using Charles Ore and perhaps a little of his own improvising. Just a hunch…
Thanks for the comment. Due to copyright restrictions, everything I’m using is mine, most of it improvised while I’m recording. The one piece that is written down is the intro to Built on the Rock, which I improvised for Reformation 2005 and then wrote down afterwards.
It’s interesting that you suspect Charles Ore, because I use much of his stuff and he was one of my organ professors. But everything, intros, harmonizations and all are mine and are improvised. I just turn on the recorder and start playing and when I like it, I keep it. Hope that clears it up.
Actually, I don’t think Built on the Rock is out yet, but that intro is a written down improvisation.
I really liked the tocata-like intro plus the interlude in At the Name of Jesus, and the versifications here on Sing Praise to God, the Highest Good.
I’m glad you enjoyed them. I thought the toccata was fairly successful and may need tone written down. It’s been a lot of fun recording for Time Out, but also a bit painful, since I listen to recordings of what I play and hear every little mistake. . And of course, you are your own worst critic, so that definitely comes into play.
