You Can Help

Time Out is inexpensive and fun to produce and maintain, but we would still like help. If Time Out has been enjoyable for you, please consider helping us out in one or more of the following ways:

Spread the Word

Tell others you know and link the Time Out home page in blogs and emails. Go to our Facebook page and suggest it to your friends. Our listeners not only include Lutherans but other denominations as well.

Financial

We incur costs through the hosting of the web site. We have a sweet deal with Dreamhost, who provides the domain name, unlimited bandwidth, and unlimited disk space for about $130/year. We are also providing and mailing CDs for those who want to listen but don’t have Internet access.

Since the beginning of March we have had a license to perform most of the copyrighted material in the Lutheran Service Book. They are willing to cut us a break and start us out at $75/year, but as downloads increase that cost may go up.

Should our blessings increase, we would like to seek performances from professional vocalists and upgrade our equipment.

Music

Time Out isn’t about the performers as much as it is about the music and the Christian doctrine taught within. You are welcome to submit performances, provided that:

The text, tune, and setting are in the public domain or under our license,
The performance is yours, or you have the performer let us know that we have his or her permission to use the performance, and
The lyrics are appropriately and distinctly Christian. Original compositions will be judged against the Bible, the three ecumenical creeds, and the 1580 Book of Concord.

We will then let you know if and when it will go into a podcast, or if not, the reason why not. You are welcome to submit either a link or an attachment to our feedback address (see right sidebar).

While supplies last we will be happy to send you a CD of some of our latest podcasts as gratitude for your donation and support.
